The training ship Loa is the only barquentine in Denmark. She was built as a three-masted schooner in Svendborg, Denmark in 1922 – and restored as a barquentine in Aalborg, Denmark 2004-08.

The home port is Aalborg, host of the Tall Ships’ Races in 1999, 2004 and again in 2010. She is owned by DSTA (Danish Sail Traning Association).

LOA is Denmark’s third “Class A ship”, the two others being the full-rigged ships “Danmark” and “Georg Stage”.
