Head for the harbour festival on two wheels!

The best advice: Take your bike!

The harbour area will be packed with people, so avoid traffic jams and the hassle of parking by cycling to the event. For cyclists, 1,000 bike parking spaces have been set up at Adgangsvejen 3, Britanniavej 2 and Auktionsgade 3, right next to the festivities.

Parking

With so many visitors, traffic in the city may become congested. From Wednesday to Saturday, you can park for free at Skibhøj, Veldbækvej 46, 6700 Esbjerg, where free shuttle buses run directly to the harbour.

If you have a disabled parking permit, you can park in the specially marked spaces at Skibhøj close to the shuttle buses, all of which are wheelchair accessible with low-floor entry. There are also a limited number of parking spaces closer to the harbour at Adgangsvejen opposite Skrågade and at Auktionsgade.

Leave your drone at home

Although the majestic sailing ships may tempt you to take aerial photos, flying drones in the harbour is prohibited without special permits from the harbour and authorities. For the safety of both visitors and crews, everyone is urged to leave their drones at home. Instead, enjoy the view from the quayside – without the risk of fines or accidents.

Police presence means you can enjoy the festivities

The South and Southern Jutland Police will be present at the harbour with a visible presence – on horseback, on the water, and on land – to ensure safety and keep the event running smoothly.

Good tips for a safe experience

  • Bringing small children? Write the child’s name and a phone number for an adult on the child’s arm with a pen or waterproof marker.
  • Leave your dog at home – and never leave it in a hot car in the city.
  • Lost or found something? Contact the paramedics at the treatment tent on Trafikhavnskaj near Skrågade.
