The Tall Ships Races nominated for Byens Bedste 2025

The nomination brings great joy to the organizers, who see it as a pat on the shoulder for both the city and the many people who help make the maritime folk festival a success.

“This is a recognition of everyone who contributes – from sponsors and volunteers to our many brave trainees who venture out to sea. But most of all, it is the visitors who create the celebration when they fill Esbjerg Harbor with lots of good energy. And of course, we are pleased to be in the company of other strong experiences in the city such as the Fantasy Festival, Folk & Fæstival, the Fisheries and Maritime Museum, and Tobakken. Together, we help make Esbjerg rich in experiences,” says event manager Kirsten Bisgaard Kirchner.

The Tall Ships Races took place in Esbjerg from 6 to 9 August 2025. Sailing ships from all over the world docked here, and as the final port of the regatta, Esbjerg hosted the crowning of the overall winner of this year’s race.

The City’s Best 2025 award is organized by JydskeVestkysten and Ugeavisen Esbjerg, which every year honor the initiatives, experiences, and businesses that make a difference in the city.
