VIKING Life-Saving Equipment Sets Sail as Main Sponsor for The Tall Ships Races 2025 in Esbjerg
The countdown to The Tall Ships Races 2025 has officially begun. On August 6, the impressive fleet of traditional sailing ships will visit Esbjerg for the sixth time, and this year, a new main sponsor has come aboard.
Esbjerg’s Mayor Jesper Frost Rasmussen and VIKING Life-Saving Equipment’s CEO, Henrik Helsinghof, have signed an agreement cementing the company's role as the main sponsor of The Tall Ships Races 2025. The agreement ensures that Esbjerg once again will host one of Europe's largest maritime celebrations, previously attracting over half a million visitors to the city's harbor.
"The Tall Ships Races hold a special meaning for Esbjerg. It's a tribute to the city's maritime heritage, inspiring 150 young trainees to set sail and experience life at sea. This might influence their choice of maritime education later on. VIKING Life-Saving Equipment fits perfectly into this vision, and we are very pleased to have them on board next year," says Mayor Jesper Frost Rasmussen.
VIKING Life-Saving Equipment has previously participated in The Tall Ships Races. The company has actively engaged with the Maritime Square on the harbor quay, and when ship crews are celebrated at the awards ceremony in Torvet, VIKING has presented a special award emphasizing safety at sea. In 2022, VIKING Life-Saving Equipment and Esbjerg Municipality used the event to highlight a groundbreaking climate partnership aimed at reducing CO2 emissions.

As the main sponsor, VIKING will have high visibility during The Tall Ships Races, allowing visitors to experience the company's innovative maritime safety solutions firsthand at a demonstration and information area. The Tall Ships Races are organized by Sail Training International, with Esbjerg Havn and Esbjerg Municipality jointly hosting the event.

Esbjerg will be the finishing port for The Tall Ships Races in 2025. After visiting France, Scotland, and Norway, the participating sailing ships arrive in Esbjerg on August 6. Until August 9, Europe's largest free family event will significantly impact the harbor and city.
